Why Another Website?
Some might ask why another website? There are so many flooding the internet already! Someone else might ask why are there so many churches? The apostle Paul addresses that question and gives a most accurate future prediction of the religious attitude of the end times in 2 Timothy 4.3-4. “For the time will come [has now come] when they [deceived believers] will not endure sound doctrine [biblical doctrine], because they have itching ears, they will heap up [or accumulate] for themselves teachers [false teachers]; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.”
Paul continued, by stating, “But you [end time true believer in Jesus] be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, endure hardships, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry. Preach the Word! Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all long-suffering, and teaching [sound biblical teaching].” What then according to the apostle Paul should we be teaching? Should we not be teaching one another to endure to the end? Jesus taught, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” Jesus further instructed,
“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden [burdened or oppressed],
and I will give you rest. Take My yoke [a physical symbol of being spiritually joined with Jesus] upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart,
and you will find rest for your souls.”
Sounds like very good advice!
Who is This Website For?
This website, According To Jesus, has been created with at least three (3) groups of people in mind. These groups are as follows:
To the 1st group, According To Jesus is a website for skeptical unbelievers in Jesus, and yet serious seekers of the truth. We believe the Word of God not only contains the truth, but the Word of God is the truth. Jesus one day while praying to His Father in heaven for His disciples on earth, declared; “Sanctify them [His disciples in every generation] by Your truth. Your Word is truth.”
Jesus also proclaimed to a group of unbelieving Jewish leaders who finally believed in Jesus, “If you abide [continue] in My Word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” For these one-time unbelieving Jewish leaders, the Word of God set them free from the bondage of religious hypocrisy, man-made unbiblical traditions, and the corrupt religious organized system of that day. The same is still true today!
Therefore, we encourage unbelievers to come learn more about Jesus Christ, His life, and the many things He taught while alive upon planet earth. We firmly believe the Word God, which includes the words of Jesus, is the truth so many seek and search for. If by chance you are presently among this unbelieving group, we welcome you to According To Jesus!
To the 2nd group, According To Jesus is a website for the believer in Jesus who may be currently attending a local church or place of worship, but who has also sensed a spiritual dryness within their life. This spiritual hunger may be due to one of two reasons. This spiritual hunger and thirsting may be due to a person not abiding or not continuing in the study of the Word of God for whatever reason. But this is not the only reason a person feels as though spiritual starvation has enveloped them.
This spiritual malady may also be a byproduct of a lack of true biblical teaching and or the avoiding of sound biblical doctrine by the religious leadership that a person or persons are presently submitting themselves to. Proverbs 29.18 proclaims, “Where there is no vision [Spirit led revelation], the people perish; but he [or she] who keeps [obeys] the law [Word of God] happy [or blessed] are they.” We as believers in Jesus require the Word of God in our lives. According to Romans 10.17; “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.” Are we in a place where we can hear and or read the truth of the Word of God? This biblical principle is so important in this 21st century.
In many places of worship in America, more teaching of man-made religious traditions and false deceiving doctrines of demons are promoted than the biblical sound doctrines of the Word of God. Jesus, again while praying to His Father in heaven, instructed both unbelievers and believers by stating,
“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and
My burden is light.”
Coming and learning from Jesus is extremely good advice and eternally beneficial for all who heed and obey His gracious invitation to come to Him. The alternative is that the yoke of religious tradition is anything but easy and the burden of deception created by man-made doctrines taking the place of the Word of God is a burden that is anything but light. To the 3rd group, According To Jesus is a website for the many wandering in the wilderness and spiritually wounded sheep of God’s pasture, who have been unjustly driven from the ranks of the religious organized church system for a variety of reasons. Therefore, whether you have been labeled as a spiritual outcast by arrogant religious leaders, or falsely accused of being a false self-appointed prophet, because of their jealousy, envy, or low self-esteem, rest assured, God has not forsaken you.
Maybe as a believer in Jesus you see the vast majority of religious teaching as contradictive or at worst counterproductive to the Word of God. Maybe due to your attempts to correct, convince, or rebuke certain unassured of themselves so-called Christian leaders, you find yourself and possibly your family on the run deep into the dark religious wilderness and seemingly behind the enemy appearing battle lines of Christendom.
Take heart my fellow sufferer, you are not alone! I am sure we would be astonished at the vast number of individuals and families, if every spiritually wounded person cast out or ostracized because of their holding fast to their biblical convictions, were to come forth and dare to declare their spiritual freedom and biblical independence. The truth of the Word of God, according to Jesus, will forever set us free!
Thank God the apostle Paul believed that all things work together for good, even what we are so quick to label as bad things or unjust things. Paul writing in Romans 8.28 instructs us as 21st century possible end time believers, by stating, “We know that all things [good things, bad things, indifferent things] work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His [God’s] purpose.”
Jesus’ final words recorded in Matthew’s gospel chapter 28 were true then and remain true in this 21st century end time generation; “Lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Christ’s promises to never leave us or to never forsake us are promises we can place our trust in for both our present lives here upon planet earth, and our eternal lives. Therefore, if you are presently a part of this third group of still loved by God believers in Jesus, and it is your desire to continue to live godly in Christ Jesus, we welcome you to According To Jesus!
A Personal Note
Over the past six plus decades from birth, I must confess, I have been an active participant at one time or another in all three of the above mentioned groups. In the past two decades I have personally been relieved of leadership roles within four Christian places of worship. Through it all, all things have worked together for good because God’s call on a person’s life does not cease with their removal from organized religious leadership responsibilities. The call of God upon a person’s life does not cease with their choice to obey God’s command of 2 Corinthians 6.17-18.
“Wherefore come out from among them, and be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean [false teaching and spiritual lawlessness], and I [God] will receive you. I will be a Father to you, and you shall be My sons and daughters, says the LORD Almighty.”
I can personally testify to God’s goodness in fulfilling His promise to receive us and to be a heavenly Father to us and to our families even when it appears we are behind enemy lines. As Joshua of old declared, so should we; “But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.” Many have made the decision to come out from among the deception created by those who neglect to teach the words of Jesus and all He would have us observe, and they have decided to serve the Lord. Many have made the decision to come out from among those who attempt to alter the words of Jesus and they have decided to serve the Lord. It is the right decision!
The According To Jesus website has been created to teach men, women, and young people to observe all things Jesus taught and to let the religious chips and critics fall where they may. According To Jesus will whenever needful, attempt to biblically expose the highly destructive man-made traditions as well as the false demonic doctrines that have crept into Christendom as if unaware by most, but not by all. God’s Spirit is at work in the lives, minds, and hearts of God’s true end time enduring to the end believers in Jesus. Praise the Lord!
According To Jesus will not shy away from revealing biblical doctrines that have been overlooked by the majority of so-called Christian leaders in favor of false messages that better guarantee to fill church pews and chairs with many people so as to also overflow the financial coffers of the well-organized corporation style religious systems with the hard earned money from those same many people. True spiritual shepherd-like leaders are called by God to feed the flock of His pasture, and never to fleece the flock!
