Lessons Of A Lifetime

YOUR SINS ARE FORGIVEN
OR
SAVING FAITH PEACE
SUNDAY NOV. 10, 2019

Scripture To Consider:
“Then one of the Pharisees asked Jesus to eat with him. And He went to the Pharisee’s house, and sat down to eat. And behold a woman in the city who was a sinner, when she knew that Jesus sat at the table in the Pharisee’s house, brought an alabaster flask of fragrant oil, and stood at His feet behind Him weeping; and she began to wash His feet with her tears, and wiped them with the hair of her head; and she kissed His feet and anointed them with the fragrant oil.”

“Now when the Pharisee who had invited Jesus saw this, he spoke to himself, saying, ‘This Man, if He were a prophet, would know who and what manner of woman this is who is touching Him, for she is a sinner.’ And Jesus answered and said to him, ‘Simon, I have something to say to you.’ So he said, ‘Teacher, say it.’ ‘There was a certain creditor who had two debtors. One owed five hundred denarii, and the other fifty. And when they had nothing with which to repay, he freely forgave them both. Tell Me, therefore, which of them will love him more?’ Simon answered and said, ‘I suppose the one whom he forgave more. And Jesus said to him, ‘You have rightly judged.’

“Then Jesus turned to the woman and said to Simon, ‘Do you see this woman? I entered your house; you gave Me no water for My feet, but she has washed My feet with her tears and wiped them with the hair of her head. You gave Me no kiss, but this woman has not ceased to kiss My feet since the time I came in. You did not anoint My head with oil, but this woman has anointed My feet with fragrant oil. Therefore I say to you, her sins, which are many, are forgiven, for she loved much. But to whom little is forgiven, the same loves little.’

“And Jesus said to her, ‘Your sins are forgiven.’ And those who sat at the table with Him began to say to themselves, ‘Who is this who even forgives sins?’ Then Jesus said to the woman, ‘Your faith has saved you. Go in peace.’ Luke 7.36-50

Something To Consider:
This dialog points out two distinctly different attitudes. One is that of a woman simply known as a sinner. This woman, in total abandonment, heard of Jesus’ whereabouts and found Him and fell at His feet in an act of humble worship. The other distinct and very different attitude is that of Simon, a Pharisee, a religious leader who thought much of himself and little of this woman and her public show of affection.

He said within himself; “This Man [Jesus], if He were a prophet, would know…” Jesus proved that He knew more than Simon thought He knew! Jesus, in every situation and in all circumstances that pertain to our lives, always knows more than we think He knows. And in every instance Jesus is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we may ask or think!

Something Else To Consider:
The great spiritual difference between these two was that this nameless woman had her many public sins forgiven. Simon merely had his private thoughts made public. This spiritually transformed woman was granted saving faith. And the end result was that she went away in peace while Simon the Pharisee just went away.

Jesus declared in John 14.27; “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” In the following verse Jesus explained, “You have heard Me say to you, ‘I am going away and coming back to you…’” Jesus predicted that He was going away, in which He did by way of the grave and death, but He returned to these same disciples.

Jesus has made the same claim to us as end time 21st century believers in Jesus. That promise was made in Matthew 24.29-31. In verse 29 Jesus declared the timing of His coming again. “Immediately after the tribulation of those days [days of the end time tribulation] the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; and the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken.”

The promise and prediction of the times in which Jesus will return continue in verse 30-31. “Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes [nations of people] of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And He [The Son of Man Jesus] will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together His elect [faithful enduring to the end saints] from the four winds [four corners of the earth], from one end of heaven to the other.”

Something More To Consider:
Now the many false prophet hirelings planted throughout Christianity by their father of lies, Satan, tells a most different tale of the second coming of Jesus. These end time heresy speaking pretenders of the faith speak little of the biblical mandate of our needing our sins forgiven but speak much of a false timing of the rapture or gathering of the saints.

In their somewhat polished deceptive charts and graphs they rearrange the evidence of the truth of God’s Word in order to seduce their listeners into believing the lie of a pre-tribulation rapture that will not happen as according to their financial increasing fables!

The false faith and unreal peace they create is of the world. They simply repeat what the majority of humans want to hear so they can continue to reap a monetary gain in the form of a weekly paycheck, elaborate lifestyle, and the fame and popularity of the rich and famous. But an eternal payday is fast approaching for all religious pretenders of a false faith that in the end will only offend and create an atmosphere of great end time betrayal. They have been warned!

A Few Final Words:
Therefore, when certain end time events begin to take place before the rapture, that have been falsely proclaimed to take place after the rapture, the hirelings are going to be forced to flee their man-approved positions of power and religious authority. The spiritual scam of the century will be revealed when the Antichrist is revealed. And at that moment, life for true believers will cost many of them their very lives.

And yet, according to Colossians 3.15, those of us alive at that time, according to Paul should; “Let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which you were called in one body; and be thankful.” At that moment I pray we all have obtained and maintained the saving faith peace of Jesus by having our sins forgiven, including the sin of following false prophets and their false messages!

Saving faith releases a person from the prison of bondage to fear and intimidation. Saving faith also creates an opportunity for that person to live in peace. “Then Jesus said to the woman, ‘Your faith has saved you. Go in peace.’

Prayer:
Our Father in heaven, keep our hearts and minds free from judging others, that we may be forgiven of our many sins and be found going in peace. In Him Always, Amen!
