Immediately After The Tribulation
Scripture To Consider:
“Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken.” Matthew 24.29
A Few Words Of Warning:
A Future Coming Astronomical Event
Many attempt wrongfully to quietly sweep these verses under the proverbial carpet of symbolism. But Jesus in this additional end time warning to all nations was describing a futuristic end time cataclysmic event of which has never before been seen or experienced in the history of the earth.
John writing in Revelation 6 beginning with verse 12, soberly declared, “I looked when He [Jesus] opened the sixth seal, and behold there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sack- cloth of hair, and the moon became like blood. And the stars of heaven fell to earth, as a fig tree drops its late figs when it is shaken by a mighty wind.” Jesus and John are describing the exact same devastating end time astronomical upheaval producing event.
Having now quoted from Revelation chapter 6, it would be to our spiritual benefit to suggest the contemplative reading of both Matthew 24.6-30, alongside of Revelation 6.1-7 in the quietness of our personal spiritual prayer closets. If we are so inclined to do so and having prayed for divine discernment from God, we will see clearly the striking similarities of these two Scriptures to consider.
For in Revelation 6.1-2, we may see the prelude to Matthew 24, in the opening of the first seal. In verses 3-4 of Revelation 6, and the opening of the second seal, we may see Matthew 24.6, and the wars and rumors of wars. In Revelation 6.5-8, and the opening of the third and fourth seal by Jesus, we may see the famines, pestilences, and the beginning of sorrows that were spoken of by Jesus in Matthew 24.7-8.
Something To Consider:
The Hiding From God’s Wrath
What John revealed in Revelation 6.9-11, we will later address in detail as we discuss verse 30-31 of our next Scripture to consider. As for now, these cataclysmic astronomical upheavals in the heavens will supersede any man-made electronic or digitized 4th of July light show or fireworks display ever produced. As evidenced by John and revealed in Revelation 6.12-17, there will be no escape for unbelieving pride filled men, women, and young people living upon planet earth at that time.
John in convicting terms reported in Revelation 6.15-17, “And the kings of the earth, the great men, the rich men, [the global elite] the commanders, the mighty men, every slave and every free man, hid themselves in the caves and in the rocks of the mountains, and said to the mountains and rocks, ‘Fall on us and hide us from the face of Him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb! For the great day of His wrath has come, and who is able to stand?’”
These end time unbelieving occupants of the earth know and fully understand that what will be taking place is indeed the deserved wrath of the Lamb, Jesus Christ of Nazareth. We have all been warned!
Something Else To Consider:
Is God’s Wrath Clearly Revealed In Scripture
We will later return to the end time hiding in the rocks, caves, and in mountains by the unbelieving. For now, we want to consider the above-mentioned end time wrath of God and the question raised by John in Revelation 6.17. John asked a non-rhetorical question following a sobering statement; “For the great day of His wrath has come, and who is able to stand?”
Jesus in Luke 21.36 acknowledged and admonished all believers in every generation, by declaring, “Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man.”
In Luke chapter 21, Jesus was addressing the same end time events as in Matthew 24. Therefore, if we intend to righteously stand before the Son of Man, Jesus, we must according to Jesus, watch and pray that we are counted worthy by our faithfulness to Christ’s words. In doing so, the tribulation of those days shall be shortened for true believing saints according to Jesus, by our being graciously gathered together with Jesus and other present tense believing saints as revealed in our next lesson and Scripture to consider.
The apostle Paul affirmed in 1 Thessalonians 1.10, as to our watchfulness, as he recorded, “And to wait for His Son [Jesus] from heaven, whom He [God the Father] raised from the dead, even Jesus who delivers us [present tense believers] from the wrath to come.” True end time believers will not be forced to face the poured-out wrath of Almighty God upon Christ rejecting sinners. Of that the Scriptures are extremely clear.
And a few chapters further in 1 Thessalonians 5.9-11, Paul divinely inspired, recorded for all who have ears to hear and understand, and all who have hearts in need of comfort and encouragement, “For God did not appoint us [living end time true believers] to wrath [God’s wrath], but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us, that whether we wake or sleep [live or die], we should live together with Him. Therefore comfort [encourage] each other and edify one another, just as you also are doing.”
And this is further biblical evidence that true believers in Jesus will not go through the wrath of God or if here on planet earth we will be protected as were those living in Goshen while others in Egypt suffered the much-deserved plague judgments of God.
Something More To Consider:
Are We Nearing An End Time Astronomical Upheaval
Yes, the great day of God’s end time wrath is coming, but it is not coming against His present tense enduring to the end true believers who are not found by Jesus practicing sin whether seemingly secretly or openly. According to Revelation chapter 6 verses 15-16, many will attempt to hide themselves from the coming just judgment and deserved wrath of an Almighty God. What good could be conceived by man to go to the great lengths he has gone, in his creating humanistic hiding places in a foolish attempt to hide from God’s wrath?
Jesus said, “Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; and the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken.” Immediately after the tribulation of what days? And when do these heavens shaking and earth effecting end time events take place? When will the sun be darkened and the moon not give off any light and stars fall from heaven? What exactly is Jesus exposing and explaining in verse 29 of our Scripture to consider? This is important to understand!
History proves that these astronomical upheaval producing events did not take place in 168 B.C. or in 70 A.D. or at any other time in the historical records. Therefore, Jesus was no doubt speaking in regard to the days following the prophesied abomination that makes desolation spoken of by Daniel the prophet in Daniel chapter 9 and chapter 12, and Jesus in Matthew 24.15, and the apostle Paul in 2 Thessalonians chapter 2, coming to pass in the future yet to be built end time Jewish temple in Jerusalem.
A Few Final Words:
Unbelievers Foolishly Hiding Beneath The Earth
The following is taken from a previously written book published by Son Room Publishing, entitled, Scripture To Consider or A Word Of Warning. “There is no doubt that there are man-made disaster aftermath facilities built into the mountains of many countries on earth, to be inhabited both during and after any cataclysmic earth effecting event. Within one hundred miles of where these lessons are being written stands Mount Weather. Mount Weather is for all practical purposes, an underground back-up American Government in waiting, and one of many.”
“The actual address is 19844 Blueridge Mountain Road Mt. Weather, Va. 20135. It rests solely under-ground within a 434-acre mountain near Bluemont, Virginia. It has been labeled by some as The Doomsday Hideaway. It is publicized as Mount Weather Emergency Operations Center. The property was purchased in 1903. Excavation of the massive mountainside underground city began in 1936. This particular underground survival complex is complete with living quarters, apartments, dormitories, streets, sidewalks, a mass transit system, water and sewer, power plant, underground spring fed lake, cafeteria, hospital, T.V. and radio broadcast communications center, and a fully functional on-site crematorium.”
“This underground hopeful future oasis is of course to house much of the American Government staff and important military personnel stationed in and around Washington D.C. This facility stands as an underground monument to man’s ingenuity, creativity, arrogance, and pride; and all at the enormous expense of the hard-working class American taxpayer. This internal mountainside complex stands as a secular statute to everything and everyone in opposition to Jesus Christ, the true and living God, and the Word of God. One thing this enormous hole in the ground is not, and that is that it is not alone in its earthly existence.”
Mount Weather and many others in America and around the world, have been built to protect, provide for, and to hopefully prolong the lives of presidents, kings, great men, rich men, commanders, mighty men of political, military, and financial earthly importance. But in the end the only safe and eternally secure place during the end time events spoken of by Jesus in Matthew 24.29-31, is to be spiritually hidden in Christ Jesus.
As we remain in Christ, we remain worthy to escape the wrath of God! To be in any other earthly location or spiritual condition will truly prove to be dangerously frightening and extremely terrifying.
Prayer: Our Father in heaven, thank You for the advance warnings of a coming astronomical event that will shake the earth and unbelievers. Hiding from Your wrath to come will not be the answer to the earth’s woes. Our being found enduring to the end, hidden away in Christ, and forgiven of our sins should be our proper position of response. In Him Always, Amen!
