The I Am Teachings Of Jesus
Or
Learning From Jesus – Lesson 7
Scripture To Consider:
“Let not your heart be troubled, you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house [eternal kingdom] are many mansions [dwelling places]; if it were not so, I would have told you.”
“I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. And where I go you know, and the way you know.”
“Thomas said unto Him, ‘Lord, we do not know where You are going; and how can we know the way?’ Jesus said unto him, ‘I am the way, [I am] the truth, [I am] the life; no man [woman or young person] comes unto the Father except by Me.’” John 14.1-6
Something To Consider:
Jesus, in the last section of John chapter 13, declared to His disciples; “Little children, I shall be with you a little longer. You will seek Me; and as I said to the Jews [Jewish religious leaders], ‘Where I am going, you cannot come’”.
Jesus continued by stating, “So now I say to you. A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”
Jesus will further demonstrate His love for them and for us by His sacrificial death upon an old rugged cross. And in exchange, Jesus has a few conditions of discipleship He reveals in John chapter 13 and 14. And they begin with our loving one another as little children who believe in Jesus.
And according to Jesus, by our loving one another, the world will know that we are Christ’s disciples, if we have genuine love for one another. Therefore, have we accepted this condition presented by Jesus which proves or disproves our true position of discipleship?
Something Else To Consider:
Peter followed up in John 13.36 by asking Jesus; “Lord, where are You going?” The other disciples were probably thinking the very same thing, but it was Peter who actually asked the inevitable question! Therefore, Jesus said, “Where I am going you cannot follow Me now, but you shall follow Me afterward.”
But Peter pushed forward! “Lord, why can I not follow You now? I will lay down my life for Your sake.” And eventually, Peter did lay down his life for Jesus! This troubled Peter and the other disciples. Where was Jesus going that they could not follow Him now? We now have the full biblical picture of what salvation cost Jesus. They did not have that luxury!
Therefore, Jesus instructed them by stating, “Let not your heart be troubled.” What about us? Have we allowed our hearts to become troubled by our not fully understanding the concept of Jesus preparing a place for us in eternity? Jesus would still say to us, “Let not your heart be troubled, you believe in God, believe also in Me.” In other words, do not fear death, but believe in Jesus!
Let me also speak to the times in which we are now living. The world is in chaos. Good is being portrayed as evil and evil as good. Common sense has been nearly done away with as it relates to the mandates of power-hungry politicians who are totally controlled by a few dozen global elites who through a handful of corporations and a short list of investment groups, own approx. 50% of everything in the world from banking, financing, manufacturing, most major news outlets, as well as the pharmaceutical industry, hospitals, transportation, and need I go any further.
And yet, we are not to fear what they can do to us, such as their attempting to force an experimental vaccine on us that has miles of documented evidence of being harmful and deadly and only God knows what these so-called vaccines hold down the road for those who have succumbed to the threats and fear tactics of those in control. Let us rather fear God who after death can condemn our souls for all of eternity.
Something More To Consider:
Therefore, Jesus followed up with His seventh I am teaching. “I am the way, [I am] the truth, and [I am] the life.” Therefore, Jesus is the way to the Father as the entry point into everlasting eternal life. He is the truth concerning the Father and eternity. And He is the life that will evolve around the Father, Jesus, and us in their presence for all of eternity.
And nine verses later, Jesus gave His disciples and all who have ears to hear, what the Holy Spirit of God is saying to this end time generation, another condition of discipleship. In verse 15 of John chapter 14, Jesus announced, “If you love Me, keep [or obey] My commandments.”
And before the end of chapter 14, Jesus, two more times repeats Himself, by acknowledging; “He [or she] who has My commandments, and keeps them [or obeys them], he [or she] it is who loves Me.”
A Few Final Words:
Are we keeping or obeying Jesus’ commandments found in the four gospels and in the book of Revelation? Are we observing all things Jesus has taught before He went away into eternity in and through the portal of death? Are we obeying all that He has instructed us in His Word? And if not, why not?
Are we remaining fearful as it pertains to life on this earth which ultimately ends by way of death? Are we hard of hearing and reluctant to learn the many lessons of a lifetime Jesus is attempting to teach us? Time is of the essence for us all. None of us are promised any future beyond our present. Let us be found looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith while we still can!
In Closing:
According to Jesus, “I [Jesus] am the way.” Jesus is the only way to the Father. He, Jesus, is the only way to eternal life! Also, according to Jesus, “I am the truth.” Do we believe Jesus to be the way and the truth of the Word of God? If not, then we are probably floating downstream with the current lies and deception being espoused by the enemy of our souls and those few dozens who are in control of this world and yet under Satan’s control awaiting the same eternal fate as Satan himself.
Also, according to Jesus, “I am the life”. Know Jesus and you will know and experience everlasting life. No Jesus, and no eternal life in Christ!
Let’s Pray:
Our Father in heaven, thank You for allowing Jesus to be the way to You, the truth concerning You, and the life that allows us to experience for all eternity Your fellowship forever. Help us to be faithful in our journey to and with Jesus. In Him Always, Amen!
